Fin571 - Club IT
Club IT is a club owned by Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejeda. The club offers music, food, and dancing six nights a week. Starting a club seemed like a fun and exciting adventure to embark on, given the vast educational background and many years of experience Ruben and Lisa possess. Although the club is a hit with its current clientele, and the business end is going well, the owners believe that something is missing. Ruben and Lisa have hired and intern to assist in getting the business on track by analyzing the informational needs of the club. The goal is to provide a workable link between information technology and data management to increase the overall operational effectiveness of the business.
Fin 571 - As the owners of Club IT, Ruben and Lisa have stated, “we offer you live music, DJs, dance space and refreshments that suit your lifestyle. You are our friends, and we seek to build a community that meets regularly at Club IT (Phoenix, 2009).” Club IT’s clientele consists of local professionals, and college students with varying tastes in food and music. For Club IT to remain successful, the club must be able to compete with the other clubs and venues in the area.
Bis219 - The first step in getting the business up to date is to review the current system. Club IT is currently using a three- year- old computer system with software that is not currently serving the clubs purpose (Rainer, 2008). The club needs an information base to help build a community network of customers. Ruben and Lisa should invest in a system that will offer the customers incentives as well as help compile customer information. Issuing VIP cards is another way to gain information on the like and dislikes of the customers they serve. The card will also give customers advanced notice of coming events, special concerts. Bis219
